Luminous Event 2021
Luminous is a large-scale illuminated community event held at the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens and presented by Gladstone Regional Council. The event transforms the gardens into an immersive night-time experience featuring lighting displays, illuminated artworks, entertainment and interactive activities for visitors to explore throughout the gardens.
Pallet Gallery
The Pallet Gallery was curated by local artist Katrina Elliott as part of the Luminous event. For the 2021 installation, Katrina created several artworks and mentored four local artists as they developed their first public art installations.
Located within the Outdoor Gallery space, the exhibition featured ten illuminated pallet-based artworks. Each installation explored the creative use of light, colour and materials while contributing to the vibrant night-time experience of the Luminous event.
The Pallet Gallery provided an opportunity for emerging artists to experiment with public art and showcase their work within one of Gladstone’s most popular community events.
